The Park Inn by Radisson Trysil Mountain Resort, which is located 800 metres above sea level, not only boasts a stunning view of the alpine slopes and neighbouring mountains, it also offers a remarkable atmosphere indoors. During recent refurbishment of the hotel an exclusive selection of wall to wall carpets from ege’s Tribal Poetry collection was chosen, which played a significant role in creating an expressive hotel interior.
The hotel interior is a direct reflection of winter and the culture that is Trysil. Close to the premises you will not only find Norway’s largest alpine facilities, but also the world’s oldest ski-club – Trysilgutten – established in 1861.
The aim was to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere at the hotel. For this reason a range of colourful carpets was chosen to complete many of the public areas. The interior design company Interiørplan from Oslo cooperated with ege carpets in Norway to find textile flooring solutions capable of encapsuling both the identity and the atmosphere of the hotel as well as the surrounding nature.
Interior designer Anne Marit Bjørnstad looked for colours and design with a Norwegian touch. In close cooperation between Interiørplan and ege carpets she was able to find the best suited flooring solutions without having to compromise the overall design theme.
“We presented Anne Marit with the collection “Tribal Poetry”, as it matches the overall theme and atmosphere aimed for at the hotel,” Erik Utne says.
Tribal Poetry is created with a feel of life in the woods and the highlands. The collection has a clear design idiom that is distinctive and stands out. Taking inspiration from traditional Scandinavian embroidery, Lapp knitting and Russian peasant designs the collection gives a warm, wintery and foresty feel.
